Julia V. Cooper received her B.F.A. in 2007 from Bennington College in Vermont, where she learned how to write terribly impressive artists' statements justifying absolutely anything. A nomadic native Bostonian, she currently lives and works in Washington, D.C. She loves movies old and new, bad and good, from Gold Diggers of 1933 to High School Musical 3, from Lawrence of Arabia to Damien: Omen II. Through painting, she hopes to imitate the alchemy of her mind, which perceives Point Break as high art. Perhaps she can convince others to feel the same way.
