Hello! I currently live in Maine with my cat and human. I like to examine the ways in which people have, throughout history, used media and creation to grapple with our place in the natural world. I am particularly interested in our fascination with disaster narratives, and how that relationship represents and shapes our understanding of our responsibility as the existential threat of climate change becomes a reality.
I use many mediums but have always incorporated fiber into my artwork and in early 2022 I began quilting, a practice which is currently my main focus. Handiwork, particularly what has been seen as "women's work," ties me to the traditions of my forbears, while the act of mark-making by hand is one of the only things that grounds my flighty brain in the present moment.
